Summary/Abstract: This paper analyses the phonetic features of legendary papers on the Holy Emperor Uroš by Metropolitan Pajsej. The aforementioned comprise the papers entitled Služba Svetom caru Urošu (The Service Dedicated to the Holy Emperor Uroš), Sinaksarsko žitije (The Sinaksar Hagiography), and Žitije Svetog cara Uroša (The Hagiography of the Holy Emperor Uroš). The research is done on Pajsej’s autograph from 1641, with a view to determining to what extent the presence of oral tradition elements in the literary Church Slavonic language is conditioned by the genre of the work. As anticipated, the oral tradition features can be found mostly in The Hagiography of the Holy Emperor Uroš, predominantly in the form of toponyms, possessive adjectives, and anthroponyms, which serve as guardians of folk customs and expressions.
