Summary/Abstract: Hearing of witness, as an evidence, can be seen in the proceeding of delicts since the oldest times of humanity. Rules adjusting the status of witness in this proceedings have gradually evolved, depending on the period character and needs of the human society. Proof of this is relevant content of process-legal and other sources from the anqtiquity to the present. This article brings brief overview of this sources.
