Public Interest, Procedural and Discursive Limitations

Summary/Abstract: We discuss in this paper the ambiguity of the journalistic key-concept, “public interest”. We present a few scientifically approaches and we analyse the very comfortable misunderstanding cultivated not only by the press, but also by politicians and other social actors. This theoretical concept is in relation with another key-concept, “the state secret” and this is the most frequent and abusive, answer that the politician use for reject the press questions. As case study, we analyse the relation between Romanian president and prime-minister with the media.
