Summary/Abstract: The established ethical norms and values are the obligation of a professional group to comply with them. An expression of social trust is to give the group autonomy together with the right to enforce a high professional status. Compliance with the norms and values of professional ethics consists in taking professional decisions as part of the personal involvement of the conscience, mind and will of a particular person. The ethical norms and values most often result from the ethical code of a given professional group. The aim of this study is to define ethical norms and values in theoretical and empirical terms. The theoretical part identifies the professional ethics and the resulting norms and values. The empirical part presents the assessment of norms and values relevant to the functioning of the studied professional group. The study draws attention to the importance of the average moral level of the professional group, which can be improved, as long as the professional group understands its duties towards the social environment.
