Summary/Abstract: The paper puts farward the work which accomplishes the Laboratory of Preservation and Archeometry of the Institute of Folk Culture (Tirana) for the preservation and conservation of about 1100 wooden objects which are administered in the Ethnographic Funds of the IFC since 1947. For the nature of the issue dealt on in the two days seminar at the National Historical Museum (Tirana) on November 21-22, 2003 the author puts forward before the audience the work made until now as well ideas and thoughts for cooperation with the Italian party in the direction of application of the most recent techniques by the Laboratory of the IFC. It was pointed out that the today’s strategy of the Laboratory for Preservation end Archeometry by the IFC is focusing mainly in the preventive measures with chemicals, known for the of the status que of the traditional carved objects as:lattice-windows, utensils and furnitures, church objects, sideboards, window covers, musical instruments, etc. The experience given by the Italian colleagues incited the idea that, beside a the theoretical aspect, to be applied practical work meotings between the Albanian and Italian specialists aiming the beginning of the work even in the terrain of the restoration of the wooden objects, because in Tirana, for lack of specialists, still has not begun this work. It was also cast the idea for the inclusion of the Albanian specialists in joint projects with the Italian colleagues even in broader projects applied by the country of the European Union.
