Summary/Abstract: Andrius’ compilation is deficient in what one could call “narrative cohesion”. The multitude of different source materials developed independently makes it so that it seems to lack a narrative connection between its main parts. However, a dedicated reader will not fail to notice that the text is not as fragmentary as it may seem. In fact, both coherence and cohesion are satisfied by means of thematic continuity. The aim of this article is to show how the themes of temptation, penance, and redemption are pivotal to a pertinent analysis of Andrius’ work.
