Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the Romanian translation of a French health magazine. After some preliminary remarks about scientific popularization and the specific features of this type of discourse, we are going to present the main socio-discursive features of our source text. What exactly is a “translational dictionary” (or “translator’s concordancer”), in the vein of Daniel Gouadec, and what specific methodology does it imply? What was our own method in order to establish French-Romanian equivalences, while elaborating our translational dictionary? These questions are going to be answered in the following sections of this paper. The last section is going to elaborate on four examples of “concordances” among the most difficult and/or interesting ones, in this translation project. We are going to finish by some (very short) conclusions pertaining to the usefulness of such a personalized tool and to the often quite intricate translation techniques (“procédés”) we had to resort to.
