Summary/Abstract: Amélie Nothomb is strongly influenced by Henry de Montherlant novels in the desire to not become a woman. This desire is illustrated through the feminine characters, who do not want to become the victims of the society’s stereotyped images, some bodies-for-others. The ideal period is childhood, if we refer to the girl, not to the boy. The boy is sexed, being ridiculous in that and in the superiority he will have as a man over a woman. The girl, even though fated to become a woman, does everything to live in childhood’s period and to remain sexless, a body-for-itself.
