Summary/Abstract: Pan-Arabism as a global ideology which has been used by some important leaders within the Greater Middle East gradually lost its attractiveness and was replaced by nationalism and then Islamism. The only solution to recover it would be to adopt a European-like pluralist model based on tolerance and permanent dialogue between the different Arab nations.
