Summary/Abstract: This article addresses the pupil-oriented foreign language teaching and its design. Pupil orientation means that the teacher is guided by pupils' interests and prior knowledge when planning and delivering lessons. The pupil-oriented teaching also means that the teachers' educational task is clearly defined. Pupil orientation is of particular importance for the teaching in classroom, because it creates a positive attitude of the pupils towards the school, the learning process and the teacher. Another positive effect is that it significantly strengthens pupils' self-confidence and motivation to learn. Pupil orientation can be demonstrated, for example, by regular student feedback or participation in lessons. Pupils are actively involved in the teaching in classroom and as a target group taken seriously and looked at critically. This article specifically presented some possibilities and suggestions on how to work pupil-oriented in the classroom.
