Summary/Abstract: Pascale Casanova’s concept - World Republic of Letters - mirrors a different perspective on literature by means of which the dichotomy internal critique (which looks on texts as autonomous types of universe) and external critique (looking for the historical context of literature production with no relation to its aesthetical value) is overpassed. Our study points out this integrative perspective and its relevance when placed within national and international literature
