Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of Christian meditation focused on teaching of Benedictine Father John Main and his successor, Father Laurence Freeman. It presents the essence of meditation and pays attention to the fruits of its attentive and everyday practice. Its purpose is discussed, namely, the constant love of God and flowing from it love of another human being, as well as the introduction of human person into the world of values and help given in realizing one’s own vocation in a more perfect way and develop one’s life talents. Attention is also paid to the proposed methods and their usefulness in the understanding and development of Christian meditation.The author hopes awake interested in the subject of meditation and its practical use - not only for one’s own benefit, but also in working with a potential patient to help him regain his lost health and mental balance.
