Summary/Abstract: The present article researches taboos for drinking water in daily life, as well as the most widespread taboos, which are related to the alternations of day and night, the calendar and the life cycle. Data and material are supplied from different regions of the Bulgarian ethnic territory, both gathered by the author herself, and derived from archives and literary sources.
