Excellence as a source of organization failures

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to contribute to the debate on the causes of failures of organizations that have achieved excellence. The paper starts with presenting a paradox where excellence should be considered not only in terms of the success of the organization sources, but also in terms of the causes of failures. This paradox later allows to present and discuss the key mistakes made by the excellent organization and the concept of organizational renewal as a mechanism of organizational excellence building.
