The regulations in terms of the transfer of artefacts and musealia abroad as an instrument of the protection of library collections

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article is to present the problems associated with the transfer of artefacts and musealia abroad which do not constitute artefacts in the context of the protection of museum collections, and the realisation of statutory tasks of museums. An analysis was conducted upon the regulations of the law on the protection of artefacts and the caring for artefacts and the law on museums, as well as implementing acts to the acts of law which are indicated. Moreover, one took into consideration the opinions of the representatives of the science of the law of the protection of cultural heritage and selected judicial decisions. The presentation of the binding legal regulations was conducted with the simultaneous reference to the museum mission realised by the museums. In particular, one indicated the significance of the permissions for the temporary transfer of artefacts and musealia for the protection of museum collections.
