Placing cargo in custody of a public warehouse : [case review]

Summary/Abstract: If an authorized consignee does not appear at the destination, the ship operator has the right to place cargo in custody of a public warehouse or to another suitable person. In that case the public warehouse shall keep the cargo for the account of the ship operator, and not for the account of the principal under the contract of shipment.
