Summary/Abstract: A new sourse concerning the history of Chok-Maidan village (Comrat district) is introduced into the scientific circulation. The document, named as “The monography of Chok-Maidan village community”, was found in the National Archive of the Republic of Moldova. It has a volumeof four typewritten pages. The analysis of the document demonstrated that it was done by the local administration in January, 1943, as an information sheet for Tighina prefecture. All such “monographs’ were compiled in theTighina prefecture for the so called “The monograph of Tighina county”, which was later sent to Chisinau, and then to Bucharest. The Chok-Maidan information sheet presents some geographical data (such as the localization of the village, landscape and streets features, climate, rivers, flora, and fauna), as well as historical (there were presented some legends of the village origin, its name, ethnic and confessional structure) and ethnographical data (wear, traditions, households, and folklore)
