Summary/Abstract: The history narration of Taraclia is preceded by the section about the past of the region, where in 1813 the colony was established. There are listed the major archaeological cultures, author reports on the progress of excavations in and around it, and traces the history of the medieval period from Budzhak area. Relying on new sources, the work confirms the prevailing assertion that Taraclia was founded in 1813 Also it is shown that took part in its formation settlers from various regions of Bulgarian lands and there are provided some concrete villages There are several stages of the settlement process, which continued until the end of the Crimean War of 1853-1856. On the basis of various statistical data, primarily register tales, the author highlights the dynamics of the population.
