EXILE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN

Summary/Abstract: When we discuss about the exile literature, the latter is divided, according to us, into two categories: the exile inside the country of origin (the literature produced in this case, although written in the native language, suffers changes caused by the need to adapt to a totalitarian regime) and the exile outside the country of origin, the writer choosing this time to express him/herself in a different language, which inevitably leads to a change of style, etc. We shall refer, in this paper, to the exile inside and outside Romania, providing the examples of Nicolae Steinhardt, Contantin Noica and Emil Cioran.
