Summary/Abstract: The article presents the main characteristics of the LXX Psalter: critical edition, number, dating, division and titles of the psalms, translation techniques. These information concern not only the Orthodox who continues to use it in the liturgical celebrations, but also the Catholics and the Protestants. In the Catholic Church, through the Vulgate, the text of Septuagint Psalter was used in the ordinary liturgies until the last century. And in all modern translations, when the MT presents a major textual difficulty, the translators continue to use the LXX to find the solution.
