Summary/Abstract: Cultural press played an important part in the promotion of the Romanian language, contributing to the affirmation of national identity in several spaces characterized by ethnic diversity. The literary critic and historian Nae Antonescu studied the Romanian publications and therefore enrichened the cultural life of Satu Mare. The local cultural space of today has him to thank for the openness towards postbelic literature. In addition, the local publicists from 1989 up to date recognize Antonescu as the founding father.
