Summary/Abstract: This paper points out some concerns of folklore collections from the Ion Delu Fund of the Archive of the Folklorists and Ethnographers Association of Sibiu, owned by the Institute for Humanities Research Sibiu, fund containing handwritten notebooks that record in detail the traditional customs celebrated during the winter holidays. The gathering of materials was done in the winter 1939-1940 by pupils, most of them from Transylvania - including some pupils from the regions of Mureş and Târnăveni, who at that time were studying at the „Gheorghe Lazăr” High School of Sibiu. Besides the folklore of the Romanians, the above-mentioned notebooks contain also references to the customs of Hungarians and Saxons.Even if they are picked by pupils, the collections on the winter customs are important as they highlight the interest they manifested, being guided by their teachers, for the folklore in the interwar period that was just ending and capture some contents that are no longer meet today in the bands of carolers of children and youth in the area.
