Legal Aspects of Signal Activities in Enterprises in Polish Legislation

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of the functioning of whistle blowers in the economic trade. The first part of the article presents the notion of a signallist and exemplary situations in which the signalists took actions aimed at abandoning violations of the law in their workplace. The author also considered whether these people are properly protected by Polish law. In the second part of the armile, the author assessed the provisions of the draft law on transparency of public life and an alternative draft law on the protection of whistleblowers created by non-governmental organizations. The analysis included objectives guiding the legislator in regulating the legal position of whistleblowers. Consideration was also given to the aspect of the legality of whistleblowers and legal protection measures to be granted. In the summary, the author presented conclusions stemming from the conducted analysis regarding the current and future legal protection of whistleblowers.
