Summary/Abstract: Do we routinely wonder how Warsaw sounds? Or whether in some way the city’s audiosphere is unique? What comprises the spectrum of sounds that surround us, and how does this influence our everyday existence and perception of reality? In my paper, I focus on the different and often unacknowledged relations of sound and space, and examine meanings of sound related to marketing and symbolism, as well as certain artistic practices. I also analyse documents drawn up by the Warsaw City Hall, mainly focusing on so-called acoustic maps.
