Summary/Abstract: The article presents G. Ivănescu in his capacity as Romance languages professor at the Faculty of Philology of the West University of Timişoara. It focuses on the formative elements of his courses, as well as on their present significance. The article also points out the need for an integral edition of Professor Ivănescu’s works, characterised by erudition and originality.
