Summary/Abstract: The novel Kalfa was published by Svjestlost in Sarajevo, 1988. It represents a comletely new aesthetic and literature way of expressing by Ifran Horozovic. In this novel the author stays true to the phantastic postmodern way of expressing, but nevertheless there are premises of a prominent focus on intimate space, as well as noticable changes in the terms of topic and language use. The poetic discourse of the novel Khalfa relies on the postmodern poetic narration with a slight breath of a new narative energy in terms of existential poetic model of expression. It can as well be considered as a autobiographie when it comes to its content and composition. The autobiographic aspect of the novel Kalfa precisely corresponds with the memoir aspect and even a documentary one. It delineates a human desire to go back to its roots in order to question and find the answers of human existence. Kalfa is a crossroad novel, a contemporary novel, a novel filled with new poetic energy and strategy that can fulfill our deepest, most intimate and most profound needs of human spirit, curiosity and imagination. In the correcation and interconnection of the phantastic and existential model novel Kalfa is a lighthouse in which Horozovic shows his huge literature talent as well as his deep knowledge and understanding of humanity, cognition and essence. Through this study I will look into the specific ways of author’s narration, the message he tries to convey as well as the voice of his conscious in terms of space and time.
