Role of Educator in the Tutelar and Educational Work of School

Summary/Abstract: The presented paper is the synthetic analysis of the workshop of school educator. The author describes how this position appeared in the history Polish school as the indispensable element in the educational system, till the currently in force rules and regulations that govern the tasks and duties. But this text isn’t orientated to the legal paragraphs only. Here appears also the practical aspect of the school educator’s work and description of two modes, in that this role can be performed in school. There are also defined the desirable features for this profession, shown the range of diagnostic and educational tasks as well as the organisation of necessary work conditions – both material and immaterial. This paper can be useful for some groups of readers. First of all for the active school educators that want to enrich their workshop by the new forms of work. Secondly for the people managing the educational system – directors and officials – that supervise the schools or intend to employ the educator in the subordinated facility. Thirdly – for all people interested in the child education and learning about both the care standards and the fundamental possibilities for the compensation of developmental deficiencies.
