Summary/Abstract: 2007 was declared "the European Year of the Equality of Chances for All", reason for which the issue of woman rights got new aspects and interpretations in the matter of the "equality of chances for all" principle. The differences of treatment based on sex required the introduction of the principle of equal treatment for men and women at work into international and national regulations. The law on revisioning Romania's Constitution modified article 16 stipulating that "Romanian state guarantee the equality of chances for men and women regarding acces to military, civil and public services and dignities". The extension of the equality of chances of men and women in the matter of acces to any function, not only in the public but also in the private field, and of all rights stipulated by labour legislation results from article 5 of the Labour Code and from Law nr. 202/2002 concerning the equality of chances of men and women.
