Summary/Abstract: The minority issue represents the field of fierce disputes which have reflected within juridical, sociological, politological papers, affecting the relations between states and human communities. For most of the European states, including the European Union, the Roma issue stands alone in importance and accuity. This article presents the history of their turning into an issue and discusses the causes of their current situation.
