Reflections on the Impact of the Symbolic Construction of Social and Political Communist Propaganda in Romania

Summary/Abstract: The current article examines the impact of the communist propaganda on Romanians’ social and political culture, Romanians’ mentalities and civic attitudes. The author of this article, convinced that in order to understand the present (people’s perception on politics and citizenship, political participation, etc.) is important to explain what happened in the communist past of our country, brought into question a subject which was almost forgotten by the Romanian scholars, The communism was not only a state of fact but also a state of mind, created through very diverse propagandist means (movies, pictures, writings, speeches etc.).
