Summary/Abstract: Taking choreography as her analytical focus, Olivia Grecea uses focus group discussions, designed to bring forward some of the key problems in visual representations on stage. Given the relationship choreographer / dancer and visual artist, this article looks for an understanding of the production mechanisms of the gendered images of the body. Being a gender based approach, the author discusses with her subjects problems referring to the female body, that becomes an object of the masculine look, the difficult issues of selfreferentiality, subjectivity, nudity and other problems coming out of the relationship between spectator and choreographer. An excellent reference is the interview with some of the most important Romanian dancers and choreographers, available at the end of the paper.
