Summary/Abstract: From the second half of the nineteenth century, the Prodromu Romanian Hermitage at Mount Athos bought or built several dwellings in Galaţi, a city in Lower Moldova, located on the Danube, for the needs of the monastic settlement in the relationship with Romania and in support of the pilgrims who went to the Holy Land and Mount Athos. The history of these methods was tumultuous and their administration, over time, rather difficult, despite their usefulness. The involvement of the Lower Danube Diocese and its hierarchs in maintaining the viability and correct management of the Prodromal succursal monasteries in Galati proved to be necessary, effective and saving.
