Summary/Abstract: The topics we discuss in this article are two-fold: professional development (PD) of teacher educators (TEs) and PD activities that are based on the principles of reflection and inquiry-based teaching and learning. The concept professional development is usually understood as a general term for all learning activities in which teachers or TEs participate in order to improve the quality of their teaching and it encompasses the growth, professionalization, and empowerment of teachers. Teacher educators are higher education academics employed in teacher training programs or institutions. The article presents professional development (PD) activities of teacher educators (TEs) that are based on the principles of inquiry-based learning and that emphasize reflective processes. The activities that will be analyzed and discussed are offered in a Higher Education Institute (HEI) of teacher training.
