Summary/Abstract: Music constitutes a collection of information in three areas: an acoustic, semantic and aesthetic one. Depending on the level of comprehension of this information by the composer, listener and receiver, the process of communication and its interpretation takes place integrally. Thus, music shows polysemantic and ambiguous messages that can be totally and differently understood. The author theoretically proves that the musical notation is not able to transmit all parameters concerning interpretation. Considerations concerned the role and relations of the semantic information as confronted with the aesthetic one, constituting the basis for the realization of each composition.
