Summary/Abstract: Concerto pieces in Bosnia and Herzegovina were first composed when local composers joined Western European trends. A significant interest in this form started after the Second World War or, more accurately, in the period between 1951 and 2011, when no more than 37 concertos were composed. They included: 22 solo concertos, three concertos, five concertinos, three concerto movements and four free-form concerto works. Most solo concertos were composed for the piano (7). Bosnian and Herzegovinian composers mostly composed concertos and concertinos for individual instruments (violin, clarinet, oboe) and orchestra, and concertinos even for various instrumental ensembles, with unavoidable string and percussion instruments.
