Summary/Abstract: The author of the study presents Hungarology as an important identity-forming discipline, the most important aspect of which is the knowledge of the Hungarian language. It also distinguishes a “language-dependent” and a “language-independent” Hungarology as an interdisciplinary science, the most authentic region of which is Central Europe. At the end of the paper, the author presents the latest publications of Hungarology and the symbol system of it.
