About the palliative care congress of the pontifical academy for life

Summary/Abstract: The Palliative Care Congress of the Pontifical Academy for Life “Palliative Care: Everywhere and by everyone” took place in Rome between 28-th of February and 2-nd of March 2018. Altogether 380 scientists of 38 countries discussed issues around the values of palliative care, developments in different parts of the world, religious, political, and financial aspects of palliative care. Bulgaria was represented by Prof. Silviya Aleksandrova-Yankulovska who presented METAP methodology for clinical ethics consultation in case of truth telling in palliative care settings in Bulgaria. This publication presents the highlights of the Palliative care congress and the reflections of the author on Bulgarian status of palliative care provision.
