Biblical motifs in the geographical naming of the West Pomerania

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the names of several dozen of places in Western Pomerania, villages or towns, their parts, and land and water toponyms; they all indicate that the questions connected with characters and places described in the Bible are part of their everyday life for the former and present inhabitants of Western Pomerania. The fact that many toponyms are of biblical origin proves that faith and religious practice have set their stamp on other spheres of life, which intermingled mutually.
