Summary/Abstract: This study is dedicated to a mazilis family from Orhei-Lapușna county, which, on the basis of some documents wereone they presented at the beginning of the 19th century, claimed to have links with the Callimachi (Călmaşu) boyars family, thus they attributing the name Calmâș (Calmuș). As a result of the analysis of mentioned sources, it was found that the target family, was collaterally related with Callimachi’s boyars family, actually was drawn from Panăș, son of Barnoschi. The Panaș-Calmâș mazilis family were among the settlers of the village Pănășești (Voloseni), of Straseni district, from Republic of Moldova and are recorded in the fiscal censuses of the end of the 18th century – the beginning of the 19th century, both with the Panăș family name, as well as Calmâș.
