Summary/Abstract: After the annexation of Bessarabia to the USSR (Union of Soviet SocialistRepublics), the Bessarabian society faced major religious, economical, political, andsocial problems, which effects continue to be felt up to present days. One of thesocial classes that suffered numerous persecutions was the clergy. The clergymenwere persecuted not only during the annexation but also during the Sovietadministration. Because of this reason, in the present material we make an attempt topublish the lists of names of the priests and of church servants from Bessarabia fromthe last 40 years of the 20th century, registered by the Soviet authorities.By publishing the present material we hope that we would open again a pageof memory for those who devoted theirs life to God and to the spiritual needs of thepopulation. At the same time, we hope that in the future we will succeed to bring intothe public attention other important documentary data concerning the clergy and thechurch from MSSR (Moldavian Socialist Soviet Republic), which are preserved invarious archives.
