Refuge Pallarcocha as element of the concept of sustainable development in the region of volcano Coropuna in Peru

Summary/Abstract: The aim of the paper is to present the project of shelter – research center located in the Peruvian Andes. The project aims to create such an object model that will serve the region’s sustainable development. It is intended to indicate how you can associate the basic functions of the shelter with the research center but also to the role of direct and indirect education. The proposed technical solutions for shelter usually could be used in homes in the region. On the other hand the shelter will serve as a center for intercultural encounters between tourists, mostly foreign, and local society.
