Summary/Abstract: The issue of corruption should be considered from the perspective of a phenomenon that is destructive to economic and social life. The acceptance of this phenomenon has been decreasing in our country for several years. The conviction, however, that people associated with certain professions should be shown gratitude for their reliably done work, does not decrease. Gratitude lined with impure intentions can be a hidden form of corruption. Just like corruption, it leads to the loss of trust among employees, creates informal and unclear systems and makes the society poorer. Therefore, people holding managerial positions, towards whom gratitude is manifested should exercise extreme prudence in order to preserve the freedom necessary to take up and pursue unpopular decisions.
