Income conditions of the development of the counties of the Lubelskie Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The publication presents the problem of local development and financing of counties in Poland. Counties are an important part of the public administration structure of Polish local governments. One of the tasks assigned to them is to take care of local development in their area. Local development includes quantitative and qualitative changes that take place in the social and economic functioning of the local government units. Its implementation requires essential funds from the country. The county's incomes include three groups of funds - own revenues, general subvention and subsidies. The aim of the article is to assess the relationship between the level of development and the level of income of the counties of the Lubelskie Voivodeship in 2010-2015. The assessment of the level of development was carried out with the Hellwig taxonomic development measure. The study confirmed the research hypothesis assuming that between the level of counties development and the level of their income per capita there is a positive dependence.
