Summary/Abstract: In the face of the implementation of the confrontational policy while running a hybrid warfare by the Russian Federation (RF), the NATO was forced to take action enhancing the Alliance’s defence capabilities. The aim of the article is to evaluate these activities in terms of providing transatlantic security assurance. The article presents a diagnosis of hybrid threats flowing from the Russian Federation and indicates the possibility of the controversy in the Alliances related to the intention of recalling Article 5 of the Washington Treaty in this situation. The article shows the evaluation of the resolutions of the Summit in Wales and indicates the consequences of the deterrence RF resulting from decisions which were taken at the Summit in Warsaw.
