Summary/Abstract: The aim of article is to show the directions of the development of household consumption in Poland in recent years. It shows the specificity of Polish households which provide needs of their members. The procedure of households consumption depends on many factors: economic, social, cultural and psychological. The article features economic and socio-cultural behaviour of households in the market. Economic factors make possible to provide needs of consumers, and socio-cultural factors affect changes in socio-economic development of society. It is underlined that changes of households income influence the diversity of consumer money spending. It has been shown that the main factor of the direction of spending money is income. However, there are very important changes of socio-cultural conditions, too. Data from the studies of GUS and CEBOS between 1989-2016 and own study from the monograph “Consumer behaviour” were used to carry out the study.
