Opportunities and threats of the labour market in rural areas of Lublin Voivodeship

Summary/Abstract: The number of people employed in agriculture is steadily declining Employment in agriculture shows great regional disparities. Lublin Voivodeship due to its agricultural nature (and stagnation in agriculture), is particularly affected by unemployment of the village inhabitants. The purpose of this article is to present the problem of unemployment in rural areas of the Lublin Voivodeship and the ability to support people who are without a job as well as an indication of opportunities for the development of the labour market in the rural areas of the province. The article uses secondary analysis. The analysis of the data leads to the unequivocal conclusion that people under 35 years, low-qualified and women are most threatened by unemployment. A chance to develop is given, inter alia, by the level of education, higher yields, vocational training, supporting the development of local entrepreneurship, the development of tourism, advice and specialist help to the unemployed.
