Summary/Abstract: This article presents a method of proactive actions towards risk events in the area of HR. It is called Managing Business-Personnel Risk (MBPR). There have been described basic premises and 10 stages of the method. The authors explained its usefulness and the way of implementing it based on an example of voluntary turnover problem. The method can provide competitive advantage in the area of Human Resources Management (HRM) to a company especially considering the current situation on the Polish labor market. Low level of unemployment and high workforce demand is challenging for HR departments responsible for employee retention. The method has been designed to identify risk event (e.g. employee resignation) and to prevent or prepare organization for this types of event occurrence. We hope that the presented method will help employers to manage effectively the problem of voluntary turnover as well as other business-personnel risks.
