Summary/Abstract: RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The aim of the article is to answer the question to what extent the individual features of an academic teacher and his practical business experience are important in the reception of program content related to entrepreneurship and to what extent they are able to influence the initiation and development of entrepreneurial attitudes among students. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The article presents the results of a pilot survey of economic students on the perception of the desired set of competences and personality traits of entrepreneurship teachers and the degree of their convergence with the entrepreneur’s characteristics. THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: Article begins a critical review of the scientific discussion on entrepreneurship education, including teaching methods, competencies and personality traits of entrepreneurship teachers. Next, the results of own quantitative empirical studies on the impact of teaching, including the personality and business experience of the academic teacher on the development of entrepreneurial attitudes among students of economic studies, were discussed. RESEARCH RESULTS: Business experience combined with creativity and communication skills are the key features of an effective teacher of entrepreneurship. CONCLUSIONS, INNOVATIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Effective entrepreneurship education requires the teacher to be experienced how to run a business and the right attitude towards the audience and teaching process. Openness and interactive conduct of classes are necessary, with a lot of ingenuity and sense of humor, engaging the group to cooperate and learn.
