Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article is to demonstrate the impact of the Japanese 5S concept on the effectiveness of workplace refinement and, ultimately, on the functioning of an enterprise. The research was carried out in the group of flexographic companies. The assessment of the implementation of the 5S concept in the analyzed companies began with audits. The audit questionnaire consisted of 60 questions based on which the key assumptions of the 5S concept were examined. The results of the audit were supplemented by direct interviews with management and employees and self-monitoring. The results of the research show that companies do not meet about 60% of the assumptions of the discussed concept. The study led to the development of the 5S concept. Properly planned and carried out 5S implementation should bring the desired results in well-structured workstations and also improve working conditions in the enterprise as well as aligning guidelines and business procedures. The publication also outlines the overall benefits of using the 5S method.
