Summary/Abstract: Stanisław Hejmowski was born on June 22, 1900 in Libawa on Courland. He was a Doctor of Philosophy and a barrister. In 1946, he defended the German murderer, Arthur Greiser. However, the greatest fame brought him the defense of Poznan workers who in June 1956 protested against the people's authorities. Attorney Hejmowski became famous as an outstanding and unyielding speaker. For his activities he was harassed by the Security Office and the Security Service. He died on May 31, 1969 in Poznań. The aim of this article is to present the figure of Stanisław Hejmowski and to show the role he played among others in the trials of Arthur Greiser and workers striking in 1956.
